Mindful Monday: 3-Minute Brain Reboot

Are you feeling stuck and can’t seem to get where you want to go? Do you feel as though you’re doing everything you can but what you want never seems to show up? Taking a time out to reboot your thinking may be exactly what you need to open your mind space for something new. Imagine your mind as a cluttered room with a large door at one side. See yourself holding a sturdy broom and begin sweeping the mental clutter — the unnecessary distracting thoughts, worries, or tension — out that door. Once all the mental debris is out the door, close it and illuminate your room with your favorite color. Now, in your open and clear room –your mind space– create a thought, a desire–what you want. See it; give the desire color, sound, and texture as though it were standing right in front of you. Feel it; capture the feeling that you desire and let it move through your mind and body as though you are in the moment of having the desire. Be it; continue on your day as though that desire is already happening, already true, and already a part of your life. Because, it is and you have made it so.
